Ragnar is proud to announce its partnership with Friends of Cheat for the Ragnar Trail Appalachians race. Friends of Cheat (FOC) is a nonprofit grassroots organization committed to preserving, restoring and promoting the natural qualities of the Cheat River watershed area. Through the partnership, Ragnar will contribute marketing and fundraising efforts, along with volunteer hours to support programs of Friends of Cheat that improve recreational activity and economic development in Preston and Tucker Counties of WV. Ragnar Events and FOC will also work to promote upcoming events together in the region, including the Cheat River Festival and 5K run on May 4. Register for this fun event.
Since 1994, Friends of Cheat has worked to improve water quality and increase environmental stewardship in the Cheat River watershed and beyond. The Kingwood, West Virginia based non-profit’s mission is to restore, preserve, and promote the outstanding natural qualities of the Cheat River watershed. They work with the state, private industries, federal agencies, grassroots organizations, community members and local landowners to implement projects that will improve the quality of life throughout the region.
